Emily talks about the important role arts have played in her life:

"It's hard to condense the role of arts in my life into a paragraph.  Simply put, arts are my life.  Growth that I've experienced since freshman year I would attribute to my involvement in the arts: speeches and solos have made me more outgoing and personable, and I'm able to work under pressure and deadlines (not to mention having the incredible life skill of being a stage makeup artist).  I think I'm a better person because of the last four years, and the arts have gotten me to this point."
